District Magistrate of Sambhal Confirms Peaceful Completion of Voting in Lok Sabha Elections

The District Magistrate of Sambhal, Manish Bansal, stated that the voting process for the Lok Sabha Elections in Sambhal constituency and the Ganaur assembly constituency of Badaun was conducted peacefully. Bansal mentioned that there were no incidents reported at any polling booth, and the political parties were seen sealing the voting machines at their respective booths, following safety protocols. The EVMs used in the elections will be stored securely in four different strong rooms located in Bahjoi, with all machines being collected, sealed, and monitored carefully.

Bansal emphasized that the security of the voting machines was of utmost importance and mentioned the high security measures in place. He highlighted that the area was under the strict surveillance of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and the State Police Force, with CCTV cameras monitoring the entire vicinity. In Uttar Pradesh, voting for 10 seats, including Sambhal, Hathras, Mainpuri, Agra (SC), Fatehpur Sikri, Firozabad, Etah, Budaun, Aonla, and Bareilly, has been completed in this phase, with over 1300 candidates, including approximately 120 women, contesting in the elections. The total number of eligible voters in this phase was reported to be 17.24 crore, distributed across 1.85 lakh polling stations.

Reflecting on the 2019 polls, the report mentioned the performance of various political parties in Uttar Pradesh, with the BJP winning 62 out of 80 seats, and its ally Apna Dal (S) securing two seats. Other parties such as BSP, SP, and Congress managed to secure seats as well, leading to a diverse representation from the state in the Lok Sabha.
