Haryana BJP Suffers Setback as Independent MLAs Withdraw Support

The ruling BJP in Haryana faced a major setback on Tuesday as three Independent MLAs withdrew their support to the Nayab Singh Saini-led government. This comes amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, further jeopardizing the BJP's position in the state.

The three MLAs, Sombir Sangwan, Randhir Gollen, and Dharampal Gonder, announced their decision at a press conference in Rohtak. They also declared their support for the Congress party during the elections.

"We are withdrawing support to the government. We are extending our support to the Congress," Gonder stated. He further explained that their decision was based on various issues, including those concerning farmers.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and State Congress Chief Udai Bhan were present at the press conference. Bhan confirmed the withdrawal of support by the Independent MLAs and their subsequent backing of the Congress.

He further highlighted that with the withdrawal of support, the BJP government in Haryana has become a minority government. He urged Nayab Singh Saini to resign immediately, stating that he no longer has the right to remain in power. Bhan also called for immediate assembly polls in the state.

This development poses a significant challenge for the BJP in Haryana, further complicating their electoral prospects in the state. The Congress, on the other hand, gains a crucial advantage with the support of these Independent MLAs.
