Uttarakhand Chief Minister Reviews Forest Fire Prevention and Monsoon Preparations

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a meeting on May 8th to discuss measures for preventing forest fires and preparing for the upcoming monsoon season.

The Chief Minister assigned responsibility for different districts to all secretaries to ensure complete prevention of forest fires.

Secretaries will conduct field inspections of affected areas and implement effective measures.

Ten Forest Department personnel were suspended for negligence in preventing forest fires, and disciplinary action is being considered for others.

A plan for collecting Pirul from forests will be developed, including establishing collection centers and increasing the amount paid for collection.

Cleaning of drains, dredging, and channelisation should be completed before the monsoon.

Construction and repair of safety walls along rivers should be finished on time.

A safety audit of all old bridges will be conducted.

Valley bridges will be prepared in sensitive areas.

A coordination committee of relevant departments will assess the current status of dam depths and areas, comparing them to the time of construction.

The Health Department will make preparations and raise awareness to prevent dengue, malaria, and other water-borne diseases.

Special attention will be paid to cleanliness.

The Health Department's Rapid Action Team will be kept ready in case of disaster.

Proactive measures will be taken to address public concerns.

Adequate arrangements will be made for clean drinking water supply, including alternative arrangements and delivery through tankers and mules.

All implementing agencies will work in coordination.

Smooth arrangements will be maintained for the Chardham Yatra.

People will receive weather alerts through SMS.

Information systems will be strengthened for Chardham and weather-related information exchange.

All departments will ensure better arrangements for the convenience of devotees.

Modern technology will be used to maximize public convenience.

Adequate JCB arrangements will be made at sensitive locations and Chardham Yatra routes in case of disaster.
