TMC to File Complaint Against BJP Leader Suvendu Adhikari Over Rape Accusation Remarks

The Trinamool Congress is set to take action by lodging a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) against Suvendu Adhikari, a prominent figure within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), along with others. The basis of their complaint stems from a video where a BJP leader purportedly admitted that the rape allegations in the Sandeshkhali case were not genuine, suggesting an organized conspiracy behind them. The TMC is going to present a letter to the EC to address this issue and bring it to the forefront for investigation.

According to sources within the Trinamool Congress, the complaint against Suvendu Adhikari and the BJP involves a video featuring a man claiming to be Gangadhar Kayal, who holds the position of BJP Mandal president in the Sandeshkhali region. In the video, Kayal is heard implicating Adhikari, who serves as the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal assembly, stating that Adhikari was the mastermind behind the alleged fabricated rape accusations. This revelation was made public through a "sting operation" video conducted by a news outlet and later shared by the TMC, serving as crucial evidence for their complaint submission.

Responding to these allegations, the West Bengal BJP president, Sukanta Majumdar, has refuted the claims made in the "sting operation" video, labeling it as "fake". Majumdar goes further to express suspicion that the video might have been manipulated using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. This development adds a layer of complexity to the situation, as both sides present conflicting narratives regarding the authenticity and implications of the incriminating video footage.
