Dubai Civil Aviation Authority Showcases Growth in Aviation Sector at Airport Show

The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) recently demonstrated its pivotal role in the advancement of the aviation industry in Dubai at the 23rd edition of the Airport Show. During the event, under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, participation from over 150 exhibitors from more than 20 countries worldwide showcased the authority's efforts and achievements.

One of the key highlights at the event was the significant growth in commercial activities within the aviation sector during the first quarter of 2024, showing a 21 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023. This growth resulted in a substantial surge in permit requests by 72 percent and permit renewals by over threefold. Requests for landing permits for various types of aircraft at Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport also saw an increase, exceeding 4,000 permits in the first quarter of 2024. Additionally, there has been a notable rise in building and elevation permits in air easement zones, reflecting the emirate's growing construction industry, which reached two and a half times the previous level.

Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, the Director-General of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, emphasized the continuous sustainable growth of the aviation sector in Dubai, attributing this success to the guidance of the wise leadership, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Lengawi highlighted the authority's commitment to developing and managing aviation policy for the emirate, ensuring essential services are provided to aviation operators and service providers in alignment with the goal of achieving global leadership in the aviation sector.
