Bulgarians Abroad Eager to Vote in Upcoming Elections
Over 38,000 Bulgarians residing abroad have submitted applications to vote in the upcoming elections for National Assembly and European Parliament on June 9th. The deadline for applications expired at midnight on the previous day.
The majority of applications, over 23,500, originated from Turkey. Germany followed with just over 2,700 applications. Notably, over 9,700 Bulgarians specifically applied to participate in the European vote, with Germany and Spain leading the count with 2,600 and 1,300 applications respectively.
The Central Election Commission (CEC) is expected to finalize the applications submitted to embassies within the next few days. This will allow them to determine the locations and number of polling stations abroad.
Voters with confirmed applications will be included in the voter lists based on their location. Those not included will be required to fill out a declaration stating they have not voted elsewhere.
