Lithuania, Poland, Poland to help Ukraine handle cargo

On Tuesday, 20 April 2022, the Minister of Transport T lis Linkaits discussed this possibility at a joint meeting between the Ministers of Transport of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland with Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov and Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi.

The Minister of Transport T lis Linkaits pointed out that all three large ports in Latvia and the grain terminals there are ready to handle Ukrainian cargo. The cargo delivery to the Baltic States is the biggest problem. Latvia is ready to work with colleagues from Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine to find solutions to those challenges.

The determination and work of Ukraine's colleagues in these challenging times is admirable, and Latvia is ready to support all efforts to continue exporting the country's agricultural products with all possible resources, stated the Minister.

Ukraine is one of the largest exporters of cereals in the world, but they can't use their ports in the Black and Azov Seas because of the war. At the meeting, the Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure stated that it was important to find new logistics directions in this situation to minimize the risk of reduced food availability in the world.
