Shak Tank investor Elon Musk says he'd like to have his Twitter deal cut

28.05.2022

The Shark Tank investor told Yahoo Finance in an interview above I'd like to zip him in a Ziploc bag and try to get his ego stuffed inside and calm him down. I liked him better who he was than who he is lately. Musk offered to buy Twitter TWTR for $44 billion, or $54.20 per share, on April 14. On May 13, the world's richest man claimed the deal was on hold pending details supporting the calculation that spam fake accounts do not represent more than 5% of users. Musk responded to a tweet from Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal with a poop emoji a few days later.

Since the company disclosed Musk's initial 9.2% stake in the company on April 4, the stock of Twitter has gone up nearly all times, and the stock of Tesla has sank more than the broader market recently.

Late Wednesday night, Twitter investors - led by Virginia resident William Heresniak - filed a lawsuit against him, alleging the billionaire executive engaged in conduct designed to create doubt about the deal and drive Twitter's stock down substantially in order to create leverage. The suit alleges that Twitter lost $8 billion in value since the buyout was announced.

The suit claims that Musk didn't disclose his stake in the company under SEC law and bought Twitter stock at an artificially low price. The lawsuit came after a new SEC filing revealed that Musk plans to front $33.5 billion of his own wealth to take over the social media company, although many observers don't believe the deal will be completed at the initial $44 billion bid.

Agrawal said the deal is still moving forward at the company's annual shareholder meeting on Wednesday and that they are working through the transaction. Corcoran previously praised Musk in a January 2020 interview with Yahoo Finance, describing him as a winner. Musk is rough, but let me tell you, any great leader is rough, she said at the time. Any great leader has a strong opinion and isn't so smooth on the edges and drives it home. In the latest interview, Corcoran joked that he's hoping he gets simmered down — he needs a good woman and put him in his place.
