29.05.2022

Amazon.com has opened its first brick-and- mortar clothing retail store, named Amazon Style, because people are leaving their homes to go shopping after the easing of COVID 19 restrictions.

Amazon Style, located in Los Angeles, will use machine-learning technology to assist customers in finding clothing and personalizing recommendations.

Customers who use Amazon's mobile app can try on their selections at the store and be notified when purchased items have been shipped.

We're bringing more looks and less clutter to in-store shopping. Amazon said on its website that our advanced machine learning algorithms are constantly refined to find just the right looks for you based on your preferences.

Fitting rooms are unlocked using the Amazon app. There is a touchscreen in the store to allow shoppers to continue requesting items to try on.

The items seen in the store can be purchased online or in the store. All items can be returned in-store.

Wells Fargo reported that Amazon has been the largest apparel retailer in the U.S. since 2021, due to the pandemic-linked boom in online ordering.

In 2021, Amazon recorded domestic sales of apparel and footwear more than $41 billion, according to industry analysts.
