Coinbase to discontinue Coinbase Pro and integrate its dApp services

23.06.2022

The company announced June 23 that Coinbase, the largest cripto exchange in the U.S., is going to discontinue Coinbase Pro and integrate its features into its mobile app and website through Advanced Trade.

The announcement said that users are forced to rely on different sets of features when using Coinbase Pro and Coinbase.com. Coinbase Pro allows experienced traders to place trades and interact directly with the exchange's order book. On the other hand, Coinbase.com offers perks like staking, borrowing, and access to a dApp wallet, to name a few.

Users have to move funds back and forth between the two products to satisfy their trading needs on the exchange. Coinbase has reconstructed the Coinbase Pro trading experience within Coinbase.com and the Coinbase mobile app to address this shortcoming.

Coinbase is adding features to Advanced Trade, which will serve as Coinbase Pro's replacement. The exchange plans to shut down Coinbase Pro later this year.

Before announcing plans to phase out of Coinbase Pro, Coinbase redesigned its mobile app to include a dApp browser. The dApp browser will allow the exchange users to search for DeFi protocols, non-fungible NFTs and games.

According to a demo posted on Coinbase Wallet's Twitter account, the browser's homepage comprises top dApps to allow users to seamlessly complete token swaps. The dApp browser has bookmark pages and autocomplete search functions that are further streamlining the user experience.

In the past month, Coinbase has released the beta version of its NFT marketplace. The marketplace is yet to step up the pace. The volume of the NFT of Coinbase has been $2,587,035. On the same day, Open Sea recorded a volume of $47,701, 583.

The company still faces stiff competition despite Coinbase's efforts to create an all-inclusive platform. For example, there is a relationship with Binance. The US launched zero-cost trading forBTC yesterday, positioning itself to attract more adopters as the bear market intensifies.

With Binance. If you want to expand the offer into other exchanges, you need to either lower their trading fees or embrace a zero-cost trading structure to stay competitive.
