GST Council meeting takes place on July 18

The 47th GST Council meeting was held on Wednesday by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The changes in GST in certain items and services have resulted in changes in the goods and services tax on certain items and services, which were taken during the two-day meeting in Chandigarh.

The Finance Ministry said that the decisions of the Council will come into effect on July 18.

The Council decided to re-examine the rates to be levied on casino, race course and online gaming services based on further inputs from states, and directed the Group of Ministers GoM to submit a report on the same by July 15.
