Tom Ford’s former Gucci headquarters is up for sale

An enormous Neoclassical mansion that served as Gucci's headquarters during Tom Ford's heyday as the brand's creative director has come back as a private residence, asking 55 million US $66.2 million, located in the posh Mayfair area of London, the property is also available as a 40,000 per week rental.

The former Gucci mansion, the brand's global headquarters, is now Mayfair's finest house currently for sale or let, said Gary Hersham, founding director of Beauchamp Estates, who is representing the listing. The 14,000 square foot home, built between 1769 and 1772, was the home of Lord Chancellor Lord Brougham, who hosted Queen Victoria and the first Duke of Wellington on the property, according to marketing materials.

The home was to serve as the new London headquarters of Gucci between 1998 and 2010 and is now on the market for the first time since being extensively refurbished under the supervision of architects Donald Insall Associates, who also handled the restoration of Windsor Castle, according to a news release. The sellers could not be identified, according to representatives. The property is owned through a trust.

The sprawling property has eight total bedrooms - four VIP bedroom suites and four staff bedrooms - as well as extensive entertaining spaces including a foyer and four reception rooms with classical design details such as elaborate molding, original Georgian fireplaces, 20 - foot ceilings, parquet floors and high windows, per listing photos.

Marketing materials show that the state room that once hosted Queen Victoria was used as Mr. Ford's office and creative space during Gucci's tenure in the building.

The turnkey mansion with its two floors of entertainment and leisure facilities is ideal for a family who like Gucci want a palatial residence in the heart of Mayfair, Mr. Hersham said.

The property was listed on June 13, according to records.
