The head of the country's Financial Investigations Service says that goods donated by allies end up being sold.

Ukraine s Financial Investigations Service has found numerous cases where humanitarian and even military aid provided by the West has been used and sold at a profit inside the country.

The head of the investigative body, Vadim Melnik, said on Tuesday that even goods destined for the military are being realized for money, and that his subordinates had ascertained such facts, according to the TV news channel Ukraina 24. The service had launched around ten criminal investigations in connection with the sale of humanitarian or military aid, according to the official.

According to Melnik, the true number of such cases is likely to be higher, as other Ukrainian law enforcement branches are also uncovering such crimes.

The head of the Financial Investigations Service argued that we need clear control algorithms of arrival, distribution and the use of aid.

Ukraine's Prosecutor General's office previously reported multiple cases of misuse of Western humanitarian and military aid.

RT spoke with an American volunteer, Andy Huynh, who had fought for Ukraine before surrendering to Russian forces last month.

He claimed that the commanders were very corrupt and troops were very ill-prepared and supplied in the International Legion he had served in.

A US volunteer told reporters back in May that corruption was rampant in units made up of foreign fighters, with basic equipment missing. He explained that there would be weapons with no ammo, or no body armor or medical kit.
