Hong Kong police condemn impersonating police officers

MAO SIQIAN XINHUA HONG KONG KONG-KONG police said on Friday they strongly condemned the act of impersonating police officers.

A spokesman for the police said the force are concerned about media reports that Hong Kong National Security Wing has sent emails to overseas legal practitioners alleging they have breached the National Security Law.

On June 30, 2020, the force established a department to safeguard national security, known as the National Security Department of the Hong Kong Police Force.

The police appealed to the people concerned to provide more information or evidence to facilitate follow-up actions.

As a police department, the force stated that they would act in accordance with the relevant laws, established procedures and guidelines when executing duties.

The National Security Law and other laws in Hong Kong will be investigated in accordance with the law, the spokesman said.
