NEAR launches JS Developer Kit for developers without learning difficulties

08.08.2022

During the ETHToronto Hackathon on Monday, NEAR announced the launch of its JavaScript Software Development Kit JS SDK.

According to a press release obtained by CryptoSlate, JavaScript developers will be able to plug into the network without having to learn a second language.

The learning curve is steep for many developers, which is why most DApps are built using Solidity and Rust.

The Founder of NEAR Illia Polosukhin said at the launch:

Developers can spend less time learning a new language and more time building. Millions of developers already know how to program in JavaScript. This group's goal is to enable them to build novel applications on NEAR. The JS SDK which is implemented in TypeScript will be available alongside the NEAR's Rust SDK to allow developers to use their preferred language.

Usability has been a challenge for Web 3 adoption. To make products that are user-focused, developers need an environment that is as simple as possible.

NEAR wants to harmonize the experience for developers, since most protocols cater to Solidity or Rust developers. With NEAR, developers can start writing their contracts with familiar languages like Rust. The protocol is built to adapt dynamically based on user demands. This mechanism saves developers the stress of moving to new networks as usage of their DApps increases. It allows transactions to be processed faster and in larger quantities while keeping the security of the network.

Near also provides courses and toolings to help developers learn and start building on the network in their preferred programming. Developers are offered a portion of the transaction fees that their contracts generate.
