New South Wales reports 10,000 new COVID-19 cases

Over the past day, just over 10,000 new COVID 19 cases have been identified in New South Wales.

There were 2,265 people in hospital with the disease and the state reported that 25 people with COVID 19 had lost their lives.

There was an increase in both cases and deaths, compared to yesterday, when NSW Health reported 7,648 new cases and four deaths.

Another 44 people in Victoria have lost their lives in the last reporting period because of COVID.

The state records 6,380 new cases, with health authorities aware of more than 40,000 known active cases at the moment.
