Bulgaria to open 3 polling stations for parliamentary elections

09.08.2022

Three polling stations in Russia will be opened for the parliamentary elections in Bulgaria on 2 October, the caretaker minister for foreign affairs Nikolay Milkov said at a meeting convened by President Rumen Radev. There are usually 4 -- 5 polling stations in Russia, but there will probably be 3. The Bulgarian Embassy in Kyiv is temporarily closed due to a problem. To organize the election in Ukraine, we will count most of the Bulgarian community active because posting officials there in the conditions of wartime risk is complicated, Minister Milkov said. Some dozen countries have already given their consent for the opening of polling stations.

At least 700 to 800 voting stations are expected to be cast abroad. Nikolay Milkov stated that the embassies are relying on a dialogue and working together with the Bulgarian communities abroad to organize and hold the election.
