Justice Department to file antitrust suit against Google

09.08.2022

The Justice Department is poised to file an antitrust lawsuit against Google as soon as September over its dominance in the online advertising market.

According to a Bloomberg News report, people familiar with the matter said that the suit is expected to come after Justice Department officials rejected concessions offered by Google.

A Google spokeswoman said that our advertising technologies help websites and apps fund their content, and enable small businesses to reach customers around the world. The huge competition in online advertising has made online ads more relevant, reduced ad tech fees, and expanded options for publishers and advertisers. There were no immediate justice department officials who were not immediately available for comment. Shares of Google parent Alphabet GOOGL, GOOG, were flat in extended trading Tuesday.
