Australia’s COVID-19 statistics for August 10

Here is a quick wrap of each Australian jurisdiction's latest COVID 19 statistics for Wednesday, August 10.

The state has recorded 30 new deaths in the last reporting period.

There are 2,212 people in the hospital with COVID 19 and 55 people in intensive care.

There were 11,356 positive tests reported.

Victoria has recorded 52 more deaths related to COVID 19 and 5,898 new cases of the virus.

Of the 52 deaths reported today, 40 occurred in the past week, 10 occurred in the past fortnight and two deaths occurred in late July, according to the Victorian Department of HealthVictorian Department of Health.

There are 610 people in the hospital with COVID 19, including 30 in the ICU, eight of whom are on ventilation.

Tasmania has recorded 669 new COVID 19 cases and one death, bringing the state's death toll to 160 since the start of the epidemic.

There are 76 people hospitalised with the disease in the United States. There are no patients currently being treated in the ICU.
