Missouri Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick says only the Democratic Party would name colossal spending bill

10.08.2022

During an interview on Cavuto: Coast to Coast, Wednesday, Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick provided perspective on Democrats' attempt to reduce painful inflation rates impacting Americans, arguing that only the Democratic Party of today would name a colossal spending bill, the Inflation Reduction Act. SCOTT FITZPATRICK: You know, only the Democrat Party of today would propose a bill that doubles the size of the IRS and increases taxes, and then gaslights the American people by telling them it's called the Inflation Reduction Act. And when you look at what this will actually do, anyone who has been subject to an audit by a government agency of any kind knows that this is a tremendous amount of time. It's important to invest in producing the documentation that's necessary for a small business and supplying it to the auditors.

You're talking about them early on. As the IRS ramps up its audit regime, people who are going to be much busier are going to be more busier in the next several years. You're talking about an agency that leaked taxpayer information on high net worth or high-income individuals to the public last year, to journalists to expose that information. Now you're talking about an agency that, with Lois Lerner several years ago, has proven that it's willing to target conservative organizations for harassment. I think that's something everyone should be concerned about.
