Detroit Battery Show gets bigger audience

25.09.2022

While Joe Biden was busy throttling the latest Corvette with car executives at the Detroit auto show last week, much of the rest of the industry went into a jam-packed convention center about 30 miles west for a forum the president managed to rev up.

The Battery Show had its biggest attendance yet, at 15,000 people, up 64% from last year and almost 50% from pre-pandemic levels, according to organizers. The Inflation Reduction Act, signed into law by Biden last month, was a big factor behind all the interest. Battery upstarts are salivating over the bill, particularly the tax credits for manufacturing components in the U.S.
