Hong Kong reports 4,034 new COVID-19 cases, 9,921 deaths

A family is about to leave Repulse Bay Beach, Hong Kong on June 26, 2022. On Monday, the financial hub reported 4,034 new infections and 3,897 new cases on Sunday.

A spokesman for the center said the new cases comprised 3,474 local infections and 193 imported ones. The city s death brought the city's death toll to 9,921 during the fifth wave.

In a separate statement, a hospital spokesman said 1,966 COVID patients are receiving treatment at public hospitals, including 183 new admissions.

The spokesman said 43 patients are in critical condition, 13 of them are in intensive care and 42 in serious condition.
