UK regulator warns of possible crypto exchange listing

Britain's Financial Conduct Authority said on Friday that FTX may be offering financial services or products in the UK without its authorisation.

FTX is one of the world's largest exchanges that have raised its profile this year by acting as a white knight, throwing lifelines to digital asset platforms that have faltered due to the fact that cryptocurrencies prices have cratered.

The FCA statement said that almost all firms and individuals offering, promoting or selling financial services or products in the UK must be authorised or registered by us.

This firm is not authorised by us and is targeting people in the UK, said the statement, which had the subject FTX FTX did not respond immediately to a request for comment on a public holiday.

Regulators around the world are trying to figure out how to regulate criptocurrency companies. In July of this year, the FCA said that global rules are needed to regulate international criptocurrencies and keep markets clean.
