High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina visits Central Bank of Bosnia and Hercegovina

Christian Schmidt, a High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, visited the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina CBBH today.

In a conversation with the CBBH Governor, Senad Softi emphasized that the CBBH, as a state institution established by Annex 4 of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BH, has been a key factor in the stability of the state, and that the unhindered execution of constitutional and legal obligations and political independence must not be brought into the question.

The CBBH celebrated 25 years of its successful operations this year. During that time, the country's monetary stability was maintained as one of the key factors of macroeconomic stability in Europe, the world and Bosnia and Herzegovina. With specific internal circumstances, the CBBH had to make exceptional efforts to preserve the independence and credibility of the institution, along with monetary stability. Governor Softi He added that for the past 25 years the currency board and the stability of the country have proven to be the most suitable solution for BH, and that will be the case in the future, because of the circumstances in the country, and currently the currency board and the stability provided by this type of monetary policy.

The CBBH will continue to act within its mandate and aim to respond adequately to all future challenges while improving its operations and maintaining credibility and trust as the most valuable asset that the CBBH has, announced the CBBH.
