03.10.2022

Jair Bolsonaro, Brazil's leader endorsed by former U.S. President Donald Trump, is trailing his leftist rival Luiz In cio Lula da Silva in the South American presidential election.

What Happened to Lula, popularly known as Da Silva, didn't get enough votes for a definitive victory and will face Bolsonaro in a run-off election on October 30, according to NPR.

The race between the two Brazillian leaders ended up close to Da Silva, a former president, who won nearly 47.9% of the vote after 97% of the votes were counted. Bolsonaro had 43.6% of the lead, according to the report.

NPR reported that campaigning is going to continue for the next four weeks.
