Fresh cyclonic circulation likely over north Andaman Sea in next 24 hours, says IMD
In the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department IMD said that a fresh cyclonic circulation is likely to occur over the north Andaman Sea and this will cause light to moderate rainfall over the south-eastern India during the next five days. The forecast agency said that the minimum temperatures will likely be in the range of 8 -- 10 C over many parts of Northwest and adjoining Central India during the next 4 -- 5 days.
The weather department said the low-pressure area over the south-coastal Andhra Pradesh and neighbourhood has become less marked in its update. The associated cyclonic circulation now lies over north-eastern Tamil Nadu and neighbours and extends to mid-tropospheric levels.
A fresh cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge over the North Andaman Sea during the next 24 hours, according to the IMD. During the next 5 days, relatively widespread to moderate rainfall is very likely over Andaman Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
For today, the weather department has issued a yellow alert for the entire state of Tamil Nadu. There has been no alert for Kerala and Karnataka so far. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.
The IMD predicted a gradual fall in the minimum temperatures by 2 -- 3 C over many parts of Bihar and Jharkhand during the next 3 days and no significant change thereafter. The agency said that no significant change in minimum temperatures is likely to be made over the rest of the country over the next 5 days.
