Shilpa Shetty joins Hunar Online Courses as brand ambassador

Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty has joined the online skilltech learning platform Hunar Online Courses as an investor and brand ambassador. The platform offers courses in areas such as fashion, food, beauty, and photography.

As per a company statement, Hunar aims to create business opportunities for its users with the partnership, leveraging and building its community, providing gigs and work-from-home opportunities, and leveraging and scaling these offerings.

The collaboration will enable one lakh Indian women to achieve financial independence by 2023 through better skilling and entrepreneurship opportunities, according to the statement. Hunar, founded in 2018, has collaborated with ITC Aashirvaad Atta and Naturals Salon aside from running its own fashion show.

Hunar Online Courses has a user base of over 20 lakh women who want to become a micropreneur or solopreneur.

A micropreneur is a businessperson who handles their own sale and marketing, and is typically a businessperson with no more than five employees under them. The partnership has the potential to grow its GDP exponentially if India s women have the right platform to learn, grow and earn an income, according to Hunar Online Courses founder and CEO Nishtha Yogesh. Women want to be financially independent and recognised for their skills, but they don't have easy access to opportunities to learn or earn. Shetty said, As an independent woman, I believe that financial independence and having a personal source of income are important for the woman, her family, and the country.
