The prosecutor's office has no evidence that the Bulgarian border can be crossed in exchange for 50 euros, according to a statement made by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte to NOS Nieuws to justify Amsterdam's decision to block Bulgaria entering the Schengen area.

By international legal aid, evidence from our partners in the Netherlands will be obtained for crossing our border with Turkey with a 50 euro bill Bulgaria is a state governed by the rule of law and as part of the EU upon receipt of evidence that the prosecution will take immediate action, Geshev wrote on his Twitter account.

Netherland's position provoked strong reactions in Bulgaria. In retaliation, the former caretaker prime minister and leader of the parliamentary party Bulgarian Rise Stefan Yanev said that they would submit a resolution to the parliament that would oblige Bulgarian representatives to vote against all international proposals of the Netherlands.
