CEC accepts invalid ballot that was declared invalid

06.12.2022

The ballot that was declared invalid last week was valid and valid, as it was used to vote for the election of delegates from Republika Srpska to the new convocation of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina made a decision at the session of Sarajevo, accepting five votes for and two votes against the proposed act, the full official title of which is the Proposal for a Decision on Determining the Results of Indirect Elections and Allocation of Mandates in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from the entity Republika Srpska.

The decision of the CEC can be appealed, it was said.

The contested ballot was the one that was written over the name of the political entity, i.e. the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska, for the election of delegates from that entity to the House of Peoples of the state parliament last week. The Party of Democratic Progress PDP is not in a square in front of the name of that political entity, which was on the day of voting was interpreted as an invalid ballot.
