OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina completes visit to Canton 10 and Una-Sana Canton
On Tuesday, Ambassador Brian Aggeler, head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, completed his visit to Canton 10 and the Una-Sana Canton.
Ambassador Aggeler started his visit on Monday, December 5, with a meeting with the Mayor of Drvar Municipality, Du ica Runi, one of only six female mayors in BiH.
Aggeler and Mayor Runi discussed a number of issues including social and health care and continued cooperation between the Mission and the Municipality.
Ambassador Aggeler then visited the Drvar Elementary School where he met with the assistant principal Ivana Kova evi and congratulated the school on its success in the Proud of Your School competition organized by the Mission throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The ambassador said it was inspiring to see a beautifully designed space for learning and recreation because of the efforts made by the school to ensure an inclusive learning environment.
The active involvement of students in decision-making is the driving force. Aggeler stressed that it is inspiring to see such a beautifully designed space for learning and recreation, and to learn more about the creative contribution of students during the preparation of the School Day celebration.
On the second day of the visit, Ambassador Aggeler met with the Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton, Mustafa Ru ni. Many topics were discussed, and Ambassador Aggeler praised the support provided by the Prime Minister in the development of the Gender Action Plan, and emphasized the Mission's expectation that the Canton will operationalize its Office for the fight against corruption.
The Ambassador met with municipal officials, including municipal councillor Ansela Huseti. Bosanski Petrovac aimed at promoting common goals and aspirations of trust, dignity and understanding. The building of the Peace Monument and the celebration of September as the Month of Peace and Tolerance make this municipality a model I hope will be followed by communities from all over the state, said the ambassador.
Aggeler met with the director of the mixed high school Bosanski Petrovac Nedret Deli, director of the Youth Council Adnan Dru i, and the representative of the Youth Council Adnan Dru i at the end of the visit. The ambassador opened a new coordination office of Mountaineers without prejudice in Sanski Most.
Aggeler pointed out that the Mission is proud to be able to provide support to Mountaineers without prejudice, including associations from Drvar, Bosanski Grahov, Bosanski Petrovac, Sanski Most, Bosanska Krupa, Cazin and Prijedor.
