09.12.2022

The rupee was appreciated by 10 paise to close at 82.28 provisional against the dollar on Friday, as a result of the weakening of the American currency in the overseas market.

The gains were restricted by foreign fund outflows and muted domestic equities, which weighed on investor sentiments.

The local currency opened at 82.30 and touched an intra-day high of 82.08 and a low of 82.33 against the dollar at the interbank foreign exchange market.

It finally settled at 82.28, registering a rise of 10 paise over its previous close of 82.38.
