27.01.2023

Bulgaria's foreign minister Nikolay Milkov reported on the foreign policy of the caretaker government. The organization of the elections on October 2 was the first priority. They took place peacefully without complaints in 755 polling stations, in 62 countries and 178,000 Bulgarians voted abroad. Milkov said that it will be increasingly difficult to organize elections abroad and that the election code will be changed to complicate the process for April 2, because of the changes to the Election Code.

Milkov said that the war in Ukraine was a topic on which we remained a strong link in NATO, provided assistance to Kyiv and was guided by international law.

The Acting Foreign Minister said that Bulgaria has never been so close to Schengen as it is today and continued the efforts to fulfill the agreements with Skopje and reduce the escalation by protecting the interests and rights of all Bulgarians in North Macedonia.
