Tesla looks to build new factory in Mexico City

Tesla Inc TSLA has been on a roll for the past few years opening new factories in China, Germany, Texas and if the deal is reached in Mexico.

New information is pointed to a possible new factory in Mexico City, despite the fact that Tesla and Mexico have not yet reached an agreement.

As reported by Electrek, Tesla plans to build an assembly factory in Mexico City, according to Jesus Ramirez, a representative of President Andr s Manuel L pez Obrador. This was in addition to a previously rumored factory in Nuevo Le n, Mexico.

Ramirez said Tesla was looking to invest in a new business hub project that was supported by the president when he spoke to a local newspaper.

The new location will allow Tesla to export directly via air, as it is close to Mexico City's Felipe ngeles International Airport.

Ramirez and Ramirez confirmed that Tesla visited the location, and the Mexican government confirmed that it was a done deal.
