04.02.2023

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konakovi spoke with the Secretary-General of the Regional Cooperation Council RCC Majlinda Bregu about the current political situation in BiH, our country's path to the EU, regional cooperation and the main area of activities of the RCC.

Konakovi pointed out that regional cooperation is one of the key priorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina's foreign policy and that the RCC, as an operational body of the Southeast European Cooperation Process, SEECP contributes significantly to many aspects of the improvement of regional cooperation.

He supported the signing of the Roaming-Free Western Balkans Agreement, which has been in force since 2021, as well as the regional mobility agreements at the Berlin Process summit in November last year.

Secretary-General Bregu expressed hope that the countries of the Western Balkans will as soon as possible complete the process of ratifying the signed agreements that allow travel with an identity card in the region and mutual recognition of university diplomas and professional qualifications.

She said that the regional agreements, together with their implementation, represent a positive step towards the implementation of the Common Market CRM Action Plan, but also the preparation of the Western Balkans for the EU single market.
