First International Association of Energy Economics conference opens in Riyadh

LIU XIAOHAN CHINA DAILY RIYADH - The first International Association of Energy Economics conference in the Middle East and North Africa region opened in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Sunday with a discussion on the paths to a sustainable energy future.

The opening plenary session of the conference, which runs until February 9, was co-organized by Fahad Alajlan, president of King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center KAPSARC and Majid AI-Moneef, chairman of the Board of Saudi Association for Energy Economics.

The theme of the conference this year is to focus on pathways to a clean, stable, and sustainable energy future. Jean-Michel Glachant, IAEE president, also addressed the session with optimism for global energy prospects in 2023.
