Minister, Deputy Chairman of BiH Council of Ministers discuss cooperation with NATO

The Minister of Defense and the Deputy Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez, spoke to the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to BiH Olav Reinertsen about the priority of the MoD and the Armed Forces of BiH in the coming period, as well as the modalities and types of support that the Embassy of Norway provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to fulfill its strategic goals.

The non-resident military attache of the Kingdom of Norway for BiH, Brigadier Dag-Magne Lunde, was also at the meeting.

The Embassy of Norway is the contact embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina for cooperation with the NATO AllianceNATO Alliance and an extremely important partner and friend to our country.

Minister Helez thanked Ambassador Reinertsen for all kinds of help, and particularly for the contribution that the NATO contact embassy makes to projects of public diplomacy and the engagement of all sectors of civil society in support of the NATO integration process.

Minister Helez and Ambassador Reinertsen are of the opinion that it is important to increase activities on the implementation of all cooperation projects with the Alliance, mainly due to events in Europe and beyond.

Due to the insufficient allocation of financial resources for the defense sector, the need for further support and assistance from partner countries was emphasized.

The NATO aid package for strengthening the defense and security capacities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including nine aid projects for the defense system and three aid projects for the BiH security system, is extremely important for equipping the Armed Forces of BiH and improving their operational capabilities. Minister Helez said he was especially grateful to the NATO member countries for that and other types of assistance.

The Interlocutors expressed mutual interest in the continuation of cooperation for the benefit of all citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and announced the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the end of the meeting.
