China unveils first self-developed flight simulator

23.03.2023

A high-level flight simulator, developed by Beijing Moreget Innovation Technology Inc, is shown in March at the company's manufacturing site in Beijing. The flight simulator is expected to provide pilot training for aircrafts such as the C 919, the country's homegrown single-aisle passenger jet that is expected to be put into commercial use soon, and China unveiled its first self-developed high-level flight simulator in Beijing on Thursday.

The Flight Simulator developed by Beijing Moreget Innovation Technology Inc, a company founded in 2006, has become the first self-developed flight simulator that has passed Level D certification, the highest standard, by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

The flight simulator, which weighs 14 metric tons, achieved mass production status last year. The Aviation Industry Corp of China, a State-owned aircraft manufacturer, has received several orders from the Aviation Industry Corp of China.

The launch of the product has broken the monopoly of foreign-developed high-level flight simulators in the China market. Liu Feng, deputy general manager of Beijing Moreget Innovation Technology, said it was expected to help improve the localization level of flight simulators in the country.

In before, we were fully dependent on imports of such flight simulators, and those developed by the United States and the Netherlands accounted for a major market share in China, Liu said.
