25.03.2023

The Embassy of the United StatesEmbassy of the United States in Bosnia and Herzegovina reacted to the decision by the president of the entity Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, that the government of the RS will end all official contacts with representatives of the United States of America and the United Kingdom.

The US Embassy, in its response, emphasizes that this is a new step on the dangerous path that Dodik has chosen to follow, which is another step on the path of isolation and authoritarian rule.

The Embassy spokesman stated that the regime will not help a regime that uses authoritarian tactics against its own people or that uses benevolent foreign aid to support unconstitutional or anti-Dayton activities.

Dodik s increasing rejection of Bosnia and Herzegovina's long-standing partners and embrace of authoritarian leaders is damaging Republika Srpska. Dodik is mortgaging his own residents' futures in order to support his regime and his corrupt interests.

The United States has longstanding working relationships with institutions like Republika Srpska and we will continue to provide assistance to the people of Republika Srpska, as we have been doing for the past several years.

The residents of Republika Srpska claim to be protecting, and it is stated in the reaction of the US Embassy in BiH, that it is a path that does not benefit the residents of Republika Srpska.
