Jiangxi People’s Congress deputy chairman under investigation

Yin Meigen, the deputy chairman of the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress, is suspected of serious violations of Party discipline and national laws, and is now under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation.

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of ChinaParty of China and the National Commission of Supervisory shared the news in a statement on Wednesday.

The 59-year-old is a native of Jiangxi and has been working there for an extended period of years.

He started working and joined the Party in 1985. He was appointed the Party Chief of Jiujiang, Jiangxi in September 2013. In November 2015, he stepped up as the vice governor of Jiangxi.

He was also a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and Party Chief of Nanchang, the capital city of Jiangxi.

He was elected the deputy chairman of the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress in January 2023.
