Florida to create database to track repeat theft, organized crime offenders

02.12.2021

In an exclusive interview with Maria Thursday, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody said that the state plans to create a database that tracks repeat theft and organized crime offenders while prosecuting them to the fullest extent of the law. Moody said she and Gov. Ron DeSantis is working to make sure the state doesn't become California or Minnesota. ASHLEY MOODY: Gov. DeSantis and I are working hard to make sure Florida doesn't become California or Minnesota.

We want tourists to feel safe and secure here. Folks come here from all over the world to shop. It will allow our law enforcement officials to work with retailers to track the incidents, and so this cannot happen in Florida for our prosperity and success. You're going to need law enforcement in other states. You would need to get the federal administration to do it on their end, but look at what they're doing at the border, look at what they just announced, and their delisting of Colombia's FARC.
