Powerball jackpot: No tickets match all 6 winning numbers

The winning lottery numbers drawn on Saturday, December 4 were 10, 40, 45, 56, 67. The Powerball number was 2 with a 2 X Power Play.

The jackpot will go up to $280 million with a cash payout of $205 million, since there were no tickets matching all six winning numbers.

After the latest Powerball drawing, a player from Michigan and another from New Jersey hit the match 5, winning $1 million each. If the players had hit the Match 5 with a Power Play purchase, they would have won $2 million.

Eighteen players matched four of the white ball numbers and the red Powerball, which put their winnings for the night at $50,000.

There was only one player that hit the match 4 and the red Powerball, winning $100,000 with the Power Play purchase. The rest of the prizes ranged between $4 and $200.

A player must match the six numbers on their ticket to the drawn six-number combination to win the jackpot. Five numbers are selected between 1 to 69 for the white balls, and a number is selected from 1 to 26 for the red powerball.

Powerball tickets cost $2 per play. The odds of winning are 1 in 292.2 million.
