Elon Musk's Neuralink receives approval from FDA for first-in-human clinical study

This is the result of exceptional work by the Neuralink team in close collaboration with the FDA and represents an important first step that will one day allow our technology to help many people, the company said in a statement.

Neuralink said recruitment for its clinical trial is still not open yet. The FDA has not responded to the trial. And the extent of the approved trial is not yet known.

The future of high tech may depend more heavily on the ability of the brain to process information.

Implanting a chip on the human skull could restore limb function, improve human movement, resolve issues with eyesight and hearing, and assist with diseases like Parkinson's, the biotech company said.
