Massive mortar shell falls in Sarajevo, 31 years ago killing 26

On this day, 31 years ago, 26 citizens of Sarajevo were killed waiting in line for bread in Sarajevo's Ferhadija Street.

On this day, 31 years ago, a mortar shell fired from aggressor positions in Borija fell at 09:55 on Ferhadija Street in Sarajevo, killing 26 and injuring 108 people.

Representatives of the cantonal government, mayor Benjamina Kari, laid flowers and paid tribute to the victims, as well as the victims' families, association members. Among those gathered were members of the families of those killed who today cannot understand the fact that someone could have killed innocent civilians who were just standing to take bread.
