UK following Cold War playbook, says China

23.01.2022

London UK January 23 ANI China said that the UK is following the Cold War playbook and that it will not get anywhere after British Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Liz Truss' remarks in Australia. She blamed Beijing for coercion against other countries and working more closely with Russia.

The accusations against China in this speech confuse right and wrong and raise questions about their real intentions. The Chinese Embassy in the UK said on Sunday that they were full of disinformation about China and the current international situation.

Today's world is a far cry from the one 40 or 50 years ago. In the face of global challenges, the international community needs solidarity and cooperation, not division or confrontation. British diplomacy, if following the Cold War playbook, will get nowhere, the statement said.

The embassy stated that the people are seeing US rhetoric in the speech, drawing lines along with ideology, and discrediting other sovereign countries regardless of facts. The move to create the small circles has had a negative impact on regional peace and stability, as a result of this, it said.
