The suspected blast occurred at 8: 30 AM toward waters off its east coast, according to the Chosun newspaper, citing unidentified government sources and Kang Dae-sik, an opposition party lawmaker.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff is confirming whether North Korea has launched two cruise missiles, the paper said.

There isn't yet an announcement from the Defense Ministry.
