Royal Bank of Canada names new finance chief Rod Bolger

17.09.2021

Sept 17 Reuters - The Royal Bank of Canada appointed Rod Bolger as its new finance chief on Friday, replacing Nadine Ahn, who takes over after a decade-long period at the lender.

The move comes as major banks to bring change in an industry that has few women or people of color in its top ranks.

Last year, Laurentian Bank of Canada named Rania Llewellyn Chief Executive Officer and President, making her the first woman in the U.S. to head a major Canadian bank.

Jane Fraser was named as Citigroup Inc last year, being the first woman to lead a major bank.

Ahn, who is currently senior vice-president, head of investor relations and RBC Capital Markets Finance, will take over the role of CFO on Nov. 1, the bank said.

He joined RBC, the largest lender, in 1999 and has held senior finance roles including Corporate Treasury.
