Microsoft just unveiled the most powerful laptop on the market
Microsoft MSFT debuted the new Surface Laptop Studio, the most powerful Surface machine on the market yet! The Surface Laptop Studio is available today at $1,599 and starts with pre-order also. It is a high powered convertible laptop that can be used as a standard notebook or as a high-powered canvas for writing and drawing.
The Surface Studio Laptop does this by using Microsoft s flexible hinge, which allows you to bring the display forward to cover the keyboard for stage mode to watch movies, play games and give presentations. Bring the screen closer and it will lower to sit nearly flat on top of the keyboard in studio mode, letting you sketch, mark up documents or take notes.
Microsoft is not the first company to print such a design on a laptop. HP Elite Folio is similar in styling. But Microsoft promises the Surface Studio laptop will blow you away thanks to its heavy duty performance.
Inside, the Laptop Studio can choose between an 11 - generation Intel Core i 5 processor or an 11 - generation Intel Core i 7 processor. Besides 32 GB storage, you need either 16 GB RAM or 2 TB.
The Core i 5 model sports Intel s Iris graphics, which means it won t be the go-to for high-end video editing or serious gaming. The Core i7 also gets an Nvidia model for the RTX 3050 Ti with 4 GB of RAM making it the go-to to buy the laptop Studio.
The Surface Laptop Studio has a 14-inch touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. At its desk, Microsoft has included the Surface Slim Pen 2, which I connect magnetically to and charges via the bottom edge of the Laptop Studio.
In the Surface Laptop Studio, Microsoft has also included Thunderbolt technology, which means you can easily connect it to external displays and get high-speed data transfer rates. According to The Verge, the company previously chose to smear Thunderbolt connectivity out of its products due to potential security issues.
The Surface Laptop Studio also has a quad touchpad and a new sound card with Dolby DLB Atmos, which should make for a solid gaming and movie watching experience. The Surface Laptop Studio has a 1080 p front-facing camera.
The Surface line represents Microsoft s vision for what it sees as the future of consumer and business hardware, and the Laptop Studio is clearly where the company wants to see Windows 11 devices go. The idea is to show that Windows 11 and Microsoft's software is as versatile as anything else on the market if not more than anything else.
The Surface Pro line of 2 in 1 s has done an exceptional job of doing just that, proving that Windows works as well on tablets as it does laptops. The company wants to show that it can add the firepower of a high-end laptop to the formula.
The Surface Laptop Studio follows Microsoft Surface Book line, which featured a detachable screen that could be used as a standalone tablet. This system s base had its batteries and powerful graphics chip. The Book is long in the tooth, which makes the Surface Laptop Studio for Microsoft to be the best buy for a high-powered 2 in 1 from Microsoft.
