Congress Spokesperson Reacts to Delhi Police Summons in Connection with Fake Video Case

Congress spokesperson and legal advisor Ramchandra Reddy addressed the Delhi Police summons received by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in connection with the fake video case involving Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Reddy mentioned that the party's social media head had been issued a notice by the Delhi Police requesting information and evidence, emphasizing the need to assess the contents of the complaint before providing a response.

The Congress spokesperson mentioned that they had received three notices on behalf of three leaders, namely Satish Manne, Asma Taslima, and Shivshankar. Ramchandra Reddy highlighted the importance of thoroughly reviewing the FIR contents before crafting a response, indicating that the party is awaiting further details to proceed accordingly. Earlier, a complaint had been filed by the Telangana BJP unit against TPCC President Revanth Reddy at the Cyber Crime police station for allegedly falsifying and altering Amit Shah's speech.

The complaint alleged that the Telangana Congress Pradesh Congress Party had shared a doctored video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on their Twitter account. The fabricated video purportedly altered Shah's statement regarding Muslim reservations, leading to accusations of misrepresentation by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Party President on social media platforms. Subsequently, the Congress leader has been instructed to present himself with his mobile phone before the Delhi Police's IFSO unit (Cyber Unit) on May 1 for further investigation into the matter.
