AAP Workers Protest Kejriwal's Arrest, Sunita Kejriwal to Lead Campaign

On Saturday, October 22, 2023, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers held a demonstration in Laxmi Nagar, Delhi, to protest the arrest of party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The demonstration was organized near a foot-over bridge in East Delhi as part of the AAP's "Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se" campaign.

The protest took place ahead of Sunita Kejriwal, Arvind Kejriwal's wife, embarking on her first Lok Sabha poll roadshow in East Delhi. AAP's East Delhi Lok Sabha poll candidate, Kuldeep Kumar, stated that the people of Delhi are ready to respond to the "dictatorship shown by the BJP" and Kejriwal's arrest.

AAP workers, led by Kumar, held placards and chanted slogans such as "Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se" during the demonstration.

Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21, 2023, in connection with a money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy. He is currently lodged in Tihar jail.

Sunita Kejriwal will spearhead the AAP's Lok Sabha campaign in Delhi and other states. Her campaign will begin with the roadshow in support of Kumar in East Delhi.
