Singapore-based restaurant reservation platform lays off 24% of staff

SINGAPORE - Singapore-based restaurant reservation platform laid off 24 per cent of its employees from all its offices in the region, according to the company on Thursday December 22. In response to CNA s queries, 38 workers in Singapore have been laid off.

Chope has offices in Asia, including in Jakarta, Bali, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Shanghai, as well as its headquarters in Singapore.

It added that most of the roles affected were in product, engineering and marketing. The departure package was provided by the firm, without elaborating what the package was.

It said it was working within our network to find placements for those affected by the layoffs.

The workers in Singapore won't be affected in other ways, according to Chope.

We are focused on efficiency in order to continue our mission to be Asia's leading dining platform. The reservation service is not affected by this, according to the company.
